Planning your stay at Sunset Shores
The airport is an hour and ten by car, almost all of it on the coast road. Check-in starts at 3 p.m. and the front desk holds bags from nine, so most guests arrive in the afternoon and do not move the car again.
The desk answers in person from 6 a.m. until midnight.

Leave the airport on the coast road heading south. The road runs along the water for most of it, goes through the harbor town at about fifty minutes, and then there is nothing for a while. The last traffic light is forty minutes out. After that the road ends at the property, which is the whole of the direction.
Parking is free and it is under the west building. A car is worth having for the first day and not much after that.

Checking in and checking out

- Rooms are ready from 3:00 p.m. Arrive earlier and the desk holds your bags and the pool is open to you.
- Check-out
- 11:00 a.m. Late departure to 2:00 p.m. is free where the room is not needed, and it is worth asking the night before.
- Bags
- The front desk holds them from 9 a.m. and after checkout until 8 p.m.
- Children
- Under twelve stay free in a parent's room, and cots are free.
On the property
Where everything is
Two buildings and the villas. The west building takes the afternoon and holds the lobby, the front desk and the parking under it. The east building takes the morning and the garden rooms open onto the lawn behind it. The four villas are on the point, past the pool, with their own way in.
Everything else runs down the terraces between them. Vera and the Paradise Buffet are on the lobby level, Emerald Pool is on the lower terrace, and the spa is a building of its own on the east side. The headland path leaves from the east gate.

What to know before you come
- Wi-Fi
- In every room and across the terraces, at no charge. The room number and your last name get you on.
- What to wear
- Nothing on the property has a dress code except Vera, which is smart casual and no beachwear, and Euphoria, which is no beachwear and no sportswear.
- There is no minibar
- In any room, and there never has been. Anything you want comes up from the kitchen.
- October
- Warm, dry and quiet. The water is still warm enough to swim in and the light goes late.
- The pool
- Open from seven and empty until about ten. Loungers need no reservation and never have.
- The resort fee
- Covers the pool, the headland path and the fitness room. It does not cover a cabana, a treatment or a tee time.

Getting in and around
Step-free from the parking level to the lobby, to both restaurants, to the pool terrace and to the theater. The lower terrace is reached by a ramp at the east end as well as by the steps. Two cabanas have a level approach and no fixed furniture on one side. Say so when you reserve and one of the two is held for you.
Eating on the property
Vera takes dinner Tuesday through Sunday and the Paradise Buffet is open for breakfast and dinner every day. Breakfast on the terrace runs until eleven and is included with a room. The poolside kitchen serves from noon.
Booking things before you arrive
A cabana, a table, a tee time and a treatment can all be reserved before you come, and the popular ones go first: the Chef's Table at Vera is usually three weeks out. Everything you have booked appears in your Guest Itinerary.
What the rate does not include
Rates are before tax and the resort fee. The resort fee covers the pool, the headland path and the fitness room. It does not cover a cabana, a treatment or a tee time.
Weather, and what to do about it
October is warm and dry and the wind comes off the water in the afternoon, which is most of what the golf course is about. If it does rain, the hammam, the theater and the cellar room at Vera are all indoors and none of them cares.
Leaving early or arriving late
The front desk is staffed through the night and a late arrival needs no notice. If you are leaving before the desk opens, settle the night before and drop the key in the box by the west door.
